The core functionality of DairyWIN is now common across all country specific versions, with the major differences being in how users can import data into the program, and some specialised reports. As DairyWIN (International) was the last version of the program to be updated, the differences between the last release, DairyWIN 2001 and DairyWIN 2004 are substantial.
DairyWIN Australia
DairyWIN Australia now generates InCalf fertility focus reports using data entered manually into DairyWIN 2004 or from herds generated from ADHIS formatted data files. In addition, DairyWIN Australia now supports both ADHIS Mating Records (108 format) and ADHIS Bull Pedigree records (105 format).
Please be aware that the Australian version of DairyWIN cannot be sold outside of Australia due to licensing restrictions on the InCalf Fertility Focus report.
InCalf Fertility Focus Reports
The InCalf Fertility Focus report is an easy-to-read single-page report that allows dairy farmers to compare with confidence the results of their herd’s reproductive performance year to year, with other herds and with what’s possible. It also helps identify priorities for action.
DairyWIN allows you to generate the InCalf Fertility Focus report from data you have entered into your herd either from importing ADHIS data records that came from your herd recording data processing centre or from information you have keyed in manually.
The report is customised for each individual herd and is able to recognise any of the following calving systems:
- Seasonal calving version
- Split calving version
- Year-round calving version

ADHIS mating records
ADHIS mating records contain service details (e.g. type of mating, AI-centre technician ID, results of pregnancy tests). Being able to download ADHIS mating record files means that reproductive analyses can be done quickly and easily.
ADHIS Bull pedigree records
ADHIS Bull Pedigree record incorporates NASIS bull information. It also contains pedigree information about bulls used for service events.
DairyWIN International
Below is an quick look at some of the new features that have been added to the International version of DairyWIN 2004.
- DairyWIN International is now able to create a herd or modify individual animals details, import Herd Test Data and import Animal Events from text files.
- The functionality of the ANIMAL EVENTS form has been extended. Animals to be withheld from milking or sale for meat as a result of treatment or for management reasons are identified by a distinctive icon on the animal events form. You may review the reason for withholding by clicking on the withhold icon on the animal events form.
- Animals with a To Be Culled event applied to their event record are identified by a distinctive icon on the animal events form.
- A WITHHOLDING GUIDE report has been added. This lists all animals in the herd that are to be withheld from milking or sale between two defined dates.
- TREATMENT and DISEASE events may be recorded in greater detail. For treatment events you can record who treated the animal, the exact name of the drug given, how it was given and the amount given.
- The DairyWIN Assist help file has been extended and revised.
